Intermediate Obedience

Intermediate class is an essential bridge-way between the simpler basic class and the extremely complex advanced class.

Description

For dogs 8+ months of age. Must have taken basic obedience with us prior to taking this class. This class begins pushing dogs toward the advanced level, extending the commands learned in basic obedience and introducing off leash work. We begin introducing more real world scenarios you would face with your dog out in public. Intermediate class is an essential bridge-way between the simpler basic class and the extremely complex advanced class.

  • Focus around Distractions

  • Loose Leash Heeling

  • Sit 

  • Relaxed Down

  • Turn

  • Long Stays with Distractions

  • Walking on Both Sides

  • Changing Pace

  • Strong Recall (Come) Around Distractions

  • Novice Off-Leash Obedience

Policies

Dogs should have absolutely no aggression history. If you aren’t sure what this means, please contact us.

 

The course meets for six consecutive (unless a skip date is noted on the schedule) one hour classes. Full attendance is mandatory for Puppy and Basic Obedience.

 

If you cancel or reschedule prior to the start of class, there is a $5.00 cancellation fee. Please note that once class has begun, the class fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and there are no make-up classes. Keep in mind these policies when you sign up for a class and please do not request an exception to the stated policies.

 

Proof of Vaccine Requirements: For dogs 16 weeks and older a record of their vaccinations must be signed by your veterinarian and include vaccine for: rabies, distemper/parvovirus, and bordetella. If your veterinarian chooses not to give your pup one or more of these vaccines at the time of class, we must have a signed letter from them stating that it is contraindicated. Dogs must be on flea & tick preventative to enter the facility.
